Wayward and Onward

Oh, you guys. This month has been insane. As those of you who follow me on Twitter know, I’ve been in Switzerland the last two weeks. I totally had good intentions: I thought I’d wander around a bit and still pull off a few hours of work every day and knock out Issue 5 to be posted today. . . you might have noticed it’s not. It all began when I arrived in Geneva and drove to La Chaux-de-Fonds, which is here:

. . .and immediately got overwhelmed. There was so much to see and do and learn. Long story short, I still have some work left to do on issue 5. I thought about posting what I had today and updating throughout the next week as I wrapped up the issue, but I couldn’t bring myself to reveal something incomplete. Hopefully this post atones for that a little. I will have issue 5 up and ready to read next week (Wednesday, July 9).

Until then, here’s a few of the many, many things that distracted me from my work:

Lake Geneva
Beautiful Lake Geneva
Le Peuple Genevois
Le Peuple Genevois Statue in Geneva, where a family saw my husband’s Bears shirt and yelled “Da Bears!”, a decidedly un-Swiss (and delightful) interaction.
A lakeside piano for anyone to play (and Husband did – the MacGuyver theme song, because he’s weird and awesome).

So, that’s a taste of the trip that distracted me from finishing issue 5 on time. I promise this won’t become a habit. Thanks for sticking with me, and I look forward to hearing what you think when it comes out July 9th!

Love always,

Kari

  1. Love the pics Kari!!! Can’t wait to hear all about it in Aug. Now get back to work!

    :).

  2. It will be worth the wait after seeing your trip thru your eyes. It looked and sounded liked you had an amazing time… Love you

  3. I’m such a goober. I’m just now seeing these. I assumed I’d get a notification for comments. Bah. Sorry: still getting the hang of this. Anyway, thanks, guys! The trip was amazing! Totally worth my guilt feelings for missing a deadline. 🙂
